B. E/ B. Tech Metallurgical Engineering
Strong in Metallurgical Engineering basics- Heat Treatment, Steel Making, Casting and Welding processes
Understanding of material testing concepts and familiarity with equipments viz Hardness Tester, Tensile Tester, Impact Tester, Metallurgical Microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope, Image Analyzer and other metallographic equipment.
Understanding of Non-Destructive testing methods viz- UT, RT, MPI and DPT
Familiar with various international standards like ASTM / SAE/ISO/JIS

Understanding of IC Engine fundamentals and concepts related to various Engine and Machine components and systems.
Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Ability to work in teams as well as independently

Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Evaluation of raw materials and components with reference to applicable Caterpillar standards
Conduct failure analysis of engine components returned from field as well as test cell
Support operations through receiving inspection, line audit and final inspection
Effective communication with customers and suppliers
Effectively interact with cross functional groups
Liaising with external testing laboratories for testing of bought out components and product fluids/process fluids.
Support Purchase groups in development of supplier process through effective process and part validation
Work with suppliers in developing and improving metallurgical processes
Monitor supplier Quality through periodic process assessment and component audits
